Actress Trisha Krishnan announced that her X (formerly Twitter) account has been hacked. On February 11, the actress shared an update on Instagram, requesting fans not to trust any post until the account is recovered.

“My Twitter is hacked, guys. Whatever is posted is not from me until rectified. Thanks,” the Vidaamuyarchi actress wrote in her Instagram story. Her statement comes after a now-deleted post on her X account promoted cryptocurrency scams, puzzling fans.

Screenshots of the cryptic post made on her X account have been circulating on social media. The fraudulent post, which was later removed from her account, featured Trisha’s picture with the caption, “I am excited to do something like this for the first time. Notably, the Identity actress has been facing cybercrimes for years. Back in 2017, the actress got into a controversy after a hacker uploaded a tweet supporting PETA and the ban on Jallikattu. The post from her account supporting the ban aroused hatred, and the actress faced severe backlash.

The controversial tweet read, “I’m Tamilian, and I support PETA. Cruelty to animals, no matter how old traditions are, is no justification.” As a result of this post, she became the target of social media, who saw it as an attack on their culture.

However, Trisha later released an official statement to clarify her stance on the controversial ban, saying, “I have never spoken against Jallikattu at any point. I am a proud Tamilian by birth, and I believe in and respect Tamil culture and tradition. I would never go against the sentiments of my own people, who had been instrumental in my growth and stature.”

Trisha’s mother, Uma Krishnan, also filed a complaint and requested police protection for her daughter. Krishnan wrote in her complaint stating that she had been a dog lover ever since she was a child, and PETA associated with her for a photo shoot to adopt strays. That’s where her association with the organisation ended. She also stated, “We are Tamilians, and we are not against Jallikattu.” The actress also deactivated her account.

Trisha experienced a similar situation in 2018, when some hackers reportedly sent private messages to several people from her account. Addressing the issue, she released a statement, “Think my account is hacked, guys… Please don’t respond to any messages from me or from my inbox.”

Trisha was last seen in Vidaamuyarchi, which follows a man on a high-stakes mission to rescue his wife after she is abducted by a dangerous group in Azerbaijan. The film, which reunited the evergreen couple Trisha and Ajith on screen, has earned Rs 26 crore till Tuesday.
