Bengaluru Daycare Abuse: One Caretaker Arrested In Alleged Toddler Torture At IT Campus
A caretaker has been arrested in the Bengaluru daycare abuse case involving alleged torture of toddlers at an IT campus. Police continue the investigation, as per Indian Express.
Bengaluru police have arrested the first accused in the shocking daycare abuse case involving toddlers at a childcare centre operating inside an IT campus in the city’s Brookefield area. The arrest comes days after disturbing videos allegedly showing children being abused surfaced online.
According to The Indian Express, the arrested woman has been identified as Vijayalakshmi, one of the five caretakers booked in the case. Police said she was taken into custody after investigators found that she was allegedly seen assaulting children in the viral videos.

The other four accused — Manjula, Bhavani, Sindhu, and Bindu- have been issued notices and asked to appear before the investigating officers.
They have not yet been arrested, and the investigation is continuing.
The case was registered on June 29 following a complaint filed by an official from the District Child Protection Unit. The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

As per The Indian Express, the complaint alleges that the caretakers subjected toddlers to severe physical and mental abuse. The allegations include frightening children by placing them inside washing machines, forcing them into narrow water-filled pipes, confining them in bathroom areas, and physically assaulting them.
The daycare centre was operating for the children of employees working at Capgemini’s Brookefield campus. After the allegations came to light, the company temporarily suspended the daycare’s operations and said it is fully cooperating with the police investigation.
