West Bengal: Man Stabs Wife To Death In Broad Daylight Before Attempting To Kill Himself
Sodpur, West Bengal: A woman was allegedly hacked to death by her husband in broad daylight in West Bengal’s Sodpur on Tuesday morning, before the accused allegedly attempted to kill himself with the same sharp weapon.
The video of the incident has went viral on social media platforms, which shows the accused man attacking his wife with a sharp weapon and then turning the weapon on himself, inflicting multiple injuries on his body.

The incident took place near Kanchkal School More in the Mahendranagar area under the jurisdiction of Khardah Police Station, triggering panic among local residents. According to police, the victim, identified as Gita Das, was cycling towards Sodpur Railway Station when her husband, Subhash Das, allegedly intercepted her and attacked her repeatedly with a sharp weapon.
After residents alerted the police, they rushed to the spot. While Das succumbed to her injuries, the accused was rescued in a critical condition and taken to Sagar Dutta Hospital for treatment. Notably, the motive behind the attack remains unclear. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
